Social and emotional

Understanding children’s behaviours & emotions and online mentoring reflection.

Description:  Upskilling educators in designing environments to support the needs of children within the program. Both face to face and/or online delivery. Training would be designed to the context of the kindergarten program and level of experience of educators and provide practical ideas for set ups, play spaces and resources to engage children in learning.  The session covers how environments impact children’s behaviours, social engagements and emotional resilience and practical ways to include simple ideas to support children’s play authentically.

Executive Function: 

Links of intentionality to building executive function strategies with children

Description:  This course engages ECT to develop curriculum strategies into an inquiry-based pedagogy. Understanding the functional of EF and then building educator capability through sharing of practical examples to demonstrate varied ways to support of children’s EF through curriculum development and documentation and online mentoring reflection. The session engages teachers in deep critical thinking about the types of experiences being offered and the value of children executive function development in these.

 

Kindy Collaboration Hub                       Online $2500 including recorded sessions

(All priority areas)

This will be a 5 session learning hub where ECT’s will engage in content training and reflective discussions on:

  1. Mathematics and Numeracy in play based learning
  2. Language and Literacy in play based learning
  3. Scaffolding to support behaviours and emotionally loaded moments (Bell curve theory)
  4. Building executive function skills into routines and transitions
  5. Critical reflection session on learnings, positive outcomes and action planning for continued improvement.

Each of the sessions will provide opportunity for ECT’s to collaborate in small groups to reflect on the content delivered, their current practices and how they might implement new ideas.  This will be a space for networking, connection and learning for all ECT’s engaged being facilitated within a reflective framework with Carrie Rose.

Sessions are once a month for 1.5 hours online and will be recorded.  Access will be provided in an online Hub for the month for those who may not have been able to make it.

There will be 3 opportunities to enrol in the Collaboration Hubs in 2026:

Hub 1:                   February – May

Hub 2:                April, May, July, August

Hub 3:                  August – November

 

Mentoring Program   Pedagogy in Practice program (PIP)

Onsite Visit: PIP program works with ECT’s in the room for periods of time, observing, supporting and critically reflecting together to develop strategies of support.

3 x 3hr visits

$2200 (incl GST) + travel costs outside of Brisbane metro will be costed on a case by case basis

 

Online critical reflection sessions: works with ECT’s online using coaching methods to engage ECT’s in critical reflection on practices.

3 x 1hr online sessions

$550 (inc GST)
