Planning Club – Building Language
Why is the space for children to engage in storytelling important for their development?
Enabling children to create stories and engage in storytelling is highly beneficial for their overall development because it supports learning across cognitive, language, social, emotional, and creative domains. For educators and families, storytelling is a powerful, play-based way for children to make sense of their world. Aside from the obvious language development benefits, storytelling can be an outlet for a child to share their inner thoughts in a way that gives them confidence.
